About Ace Mobility
The idea for Ace Mobility started in 2004 when Mark Cowan was looking for a Table that his disabled son Anthony could use in the home. After a detailed search through UK manufacturers brochures and the internet he discovered this was a product yet to be made.
In early 2005 Mark put the concept to a friend Colin Oxford, who is an experienced engineer specialising in the medical equipment sector. Colin was very interested in the idea and even ran the Great North Run to help fun the prototype.
Colin spoke to another collegue, an expert welder and fabricator Paul Finch who then helped to build the prototype.
In late 2005 the first prototype was tested by Mark's son Anthony and the table was a great success. Before the end of 2005 a local special needs school called Kingsdown had agreed to conduct a test program. From 2005 until 2009 the Ace Table has been continuously refined and improved.
We have had enquiries from special schools, hospitals, care homes, rehab units dementure centres and hospicies. As a result of the incredible interest we decided it was time to start supplying our table to the people and places who will benefit from its use.
